Are you an inspirational and caring Headteacher seeking an opportunity to make a difference? A well-established special school in Birmingham is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to take the helm and drive the next phase of the school's development. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Headteacher with a strong background in SEND leadership to lead a dedicated team, shape strategic direction, and make a life-changing impact on pupils with a wide range of complex needs.

As Headteacher, you will lead with compassion, clarity, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within special education. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, effective safeguarding, strong community relationships, and a culture of ambition and care. This school is proud of its staff team, supportive governing body, and the achievements of its pupils - and it is looking for a leader who will build on that strong foundation with vision and purpose.

To be considered for this role you must have previous leadership experience within a SEND setting.

Requirements
  • Leadership experience as a Headteacher, Executive Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher within a Special Educational Needs School
  • Outstanding knowledge of SEN policies, procedures, and practices
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); NPQSL, NPQH, or NPQEL desirable
  • Demonstrated successful headship experience within a Special Needs School
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build positive relationships with parents, staff, governors, and outside agencies
