Overview

To lead the setting and strategy deployment for operations of food, drinks & GNFR distribution including reverse logistics within Greene King. This role includes direct management of Greene King-owned depots and primary distribution, and leads the 3PL partnership sites in the region to deliver operational excellence and supply solutions at the best possible cost. This role is accountable for the sustainable continuous improvement of a multi-site regional distribution network and, in partnership with the wider Group Supply Chain leadership team, plays a key role in the execution of the end-to-end Greene King supply chain from raw material inventory to customer delivery of finished goods and the reverse logistics returns process. There is a heavy focus on delivering Operational Excellence within the Distribution function and ensuring it is fit for the future, agile and operates above industry standard.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a professional Health and Safety culture across all Greene King Distribution Centres and Transport Operations.
  • Support the development and delivery of the regional supply chain strategy at GK sites and 3PL partner sites to ensure all balanced KPIs are met.
  • Partner with Finance to produce and adhere to budget requirements that are agile and responsive to dynamic volume changes.
  • Based on employee feedback, develop and deliver a regional employee pride and engagement plan that enables an inclusive culture aligned with Greene King values and behaviours.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of forecasting and product availability processes to improve end-to-end efficiencies across GK and 3PL partner sites to consistently meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to deliver a transparent, flexible value-for-money cost/service model across regions and channels (Food and Drink).
  • Maximise opportunities of technology and innovation to reduce loss in the supply chain and continuously improve customer service.
  • Manage key GK stakeholders including 3PL relationships and union interactions at GK sites.
  • Operate a robust delivery network that is fit for the future and meets the needs of all trade channels.
  • Lead a KPI-focused continuous improvement culture within the distribution network, supporting the long-term sustainability of the supply chain and minimising Greene King’s environmental footprint.
Qualifications
  • Essential: 7 years of experience in Logistics or Operational Leadership roles.
  • Direct logistics leadership experience.
  • Change management experience.
  • Continuous improvement leadership.
  • Experience in primary and secondary distribution.

Strong financial and analytical skills.

Desirable
  • Lean 6 Sigma.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • CILT qualification.
  • Site start-up experience.
