Overview

Applications are invited for the post of Head of Student Fees in the Finance Department. Royal Holloway is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Student Fees, ensuring the effective management of all student-related income and supporting the University's financial sustainability.

As Head of Student Fees, you will lead the Student Fees Office, overseeing the full lifecycle of student billing and income collection for tuition, accommodation, and associated charges. You will be responsible for ensuring robust policies, processes, and controls are in place to achieve timely and accurate billing, efficient collection, and exceptional customer service.

This pivotal role includes leading process improvement initiatives, enhancing system capabilities, and ensuring compliance with sector regulations and institutional policies. You will also play a key role in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making, and delivering high-quality management information to senior leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Student Fees Office, overseeing the full lifecycle of student billing and income collection for tuition, accommodation, and associated charges.
  • Ensure robust policies, processes, and controls to achieve timely and accurate billing, efficient collection, and exceptional customer service.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, enhance system capabilities, and ensure compliance with sector regulations and institutional policies.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, support strategic decision-making, and deliver high-quality management information to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Strong leader with proven experience in income management, financial operations, and process improvement within a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to balance operational delivery with strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector and experience with finance or student record systems (such as Agresso and Banner) would be advantageous.
