Overview

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us, including tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Fixing a leaky tap and other routine maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Managing maintenance across the care home building and gardens/grounds.
  • Leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning.
  • Liaising with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
Qualifications
  • Hands-on property maintenance experience with at least one trade skill; a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks is preferred.
  • Reliable and flexible regarding working hours.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IT literacy.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
