£55,000 - £60,000 (pro rata) plus excellent benefits

Barnsbury, Islington with agile working (remote with some evening meetings)

We are seeking an exceptional governance professional to join Barnsbury Housing Association as Head of Governance, acting as Company Secretary, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing governance frameworks and advising the Board and Leadership Team. This newly created role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to shape its scope and fit it around other commitments.

Responsibilities

Provide Company Secretary duties and governance oversight; ensure regulatory compliance and statutory reporting; maintain and develop governance frameworks; advise the Board and Leadership Team on governance matters; contribute to a positive, values-driven governance culture.

What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience in a governance, company secretarial, or compliance role, ideally within the social housing sector or a closely related setting
  • Strong insight into governance frameworks, the sector’s regulatory landscape and consumer standards
  • An independent perspective with a balanced approach to providing challenge, rigour and support
  • The ability to foster trusted, productive relationships at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
