Overview

Based: Greenford (some travel to Central London)

Salary: £55,000 to £70,000 (dependent upon experience) + bonus and benefits

Our client is a leader in a specialist field of design, build, consultancy, and service that they deliver to many of the most impressive Head Offices across London. They're highly design lead, developing, driving and utilising cutting edge practices and technologies. As a thought leader in the sector, they evolve and push the boundaries of design, delivery and customer service, as a norm.

They are a small to medium sized enterprise, yet well-established and highly regarded across their industry. They have enjoyed successive years of growth but expect this to accelerate over the next few years, with plans to more than triple in size over the next three years.

In line with this growth, they seek to appoint a Qualified Accountant as their first Head of Finance. The role will be the number one in finance, responsible for proactively supporting the growth, driving improvement in processes, delivering greater insight and embracing ongoing use of new technology.

Growth and progression

Initially the role will be hands on, working closely with the MD and Operational Managers and leading your small team but, in line with the growth, the role will grow, as will your team. In time, it is expected that, for the right person, the role will become Financial Director. In the not too distant future, it is envisaged that Senior Management will be invited to participate in share ownership and, this role will be integral in developing this and will also participate too.

Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for all day-to-day accounting activity as well as for production of the management and statutory accounts.
  • Maintain a keen commercial focus and communicate effectively with non-accounting members of the team.
  • Lead and mentor team members; demonstrate the ability to develop others.
  • Be IT savvy and motivated to improve the use of technology to achieve greater efficiency and to support the business with more timely and insightful information.
  • Collaborate with the MD and Operational Managers during growth and process improvement on an ongoing basis.
