Overview

This role involves managing shifts, overseeing all aspects of patient flow, and providing comprehensive care to service users. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to further develop their skills and share their learning with others. The successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner, accountable for decision-making and providing advice and resources for patients and health professionals. Key responsibilities include managing shifts, ensuring efficient patient flow, and delivering high quality care to service users. Key duties encompass initial history taking, clinical assessment, requesting tests and investigations, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation of care, early pregnancy ultrasound assessment, and contributing to the continual improvement of quality standards.

We are seeking a highly-motivated and driven individual committed to enhancing patient care and experience. The ideal candidate will possess advanced communication and leadership skills, along with significant nursing experience in gynaecology and early pregnancy settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC
• Post Graduate Certificate Ultrasound in Early Pregnancy module at post graduate level (level 7) (TA/TV)
• Recognised mentorship or teaching qualification

Knowledge & Nature of Experience Essential

• Competent in venepuncture, cannulation and intravenous drug administration
• Current clinical experience practicing within scanning environment
• Ability to perform gynae ultrasound scans and complete the necessary reporting mechanism
• Able or willing to learn to perform manual vacuum aspiration (MVA)
• Able to complete clinical history taking
• Able to complete vaginal and speculum examination
• Specialist knowledge in clinical specialty
• Ability to take responsibility for a clinical caseload, including decision making, use of initiative and awareness of professional limitations
• Experience in leadership or management responsibilities
• Participation in clinical research or audit
