Overview

We are seeking a full-time Group Finance Manager to join our friendly team in Chorley. This is primarily an office-based role, with some flexibility for remote working. You will support the senior finance team by leading two key BAU finance functions.

Responsibilities
  • Transactional Finance (Accounts Payable and Receivable)
  • Management Accounts, Leadership & Resourcing
  • Lead, coach, and develop the transactional and management accounts teams.
  • Plan and manage team resourcing in line with business growth.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and team development.
  • Financial Operations & Deadlines: Ensure accurate and timely processing of AP, AR, and general ledger transactions.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain discipline around financial timetables and compliance deadlines.
  • Reporting & Insight: Implement and maintain robust financial reporting frameworks.
  • Deliver variance analysis, reconciliations, and insightful commentary.
  • Continuously enhance reporting outputs to meet evolving business needs.
  • Processes, Systems & Controls: Design and enforce efficient financial processes and policies.
  • Drive automation and system improvements to boost efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership of transactional finance and management accounts teams.
  • Strong background in month-end/year-end close, budgeting, and payroll.
  • Experience in process improvement, systems optimisation, and internal controls.
  • Track record of recruiting, coaching, and developing finance professionals.
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with relevant post qualification experience; strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.
  • Effective team leadership and performance management.
  • Skilled in process design and risk management.
  • Clear communicator with senior stakeholders.
