Overview
We are seeking a full-time Group Finance Manager to join our friendly team in Chorley. This is primarily an office-based role, with some flexibility for remote working. You will support the senior finance team by leading two key BAU finance functions.
Responsibilities
- Transactional Finance (Accounts Payable and Receivable)
- Management Accounts, Leadership & Resourcing
- Lead, coach, and develop the transactional and management accounts teams.
- Plan and manage team resourcing in line with business growth.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and team development.
- Financial Operations & Deadlines: Ensure accurate and timely processing of AP, AR, and general ledger transactions.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain discipline around financial timetables and compliance deadlines.
- Reporting & Insight: Implement and maintain robust financial reporting frameworks.
- Deliver variance analysis, reconciliations, and insightful commentary.
- Continuously enhance reporting outputs to meet evolving business needs.
- Processes, Systems & Controls: Design and enforce efficient financial processes and policies.
- Drive automation and system improvements to boost efficiency and reduce risk.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership of transactional finance and management accounts teams.
- Strong background in month-end/year-end close, budgeting, and payroll.
- Experience in process improvement, systems optimisation, and internal controls.
- Track record of recruiting, coaching, and developing finance professionals.
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with relevant post qualification experience; strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.
- Effective team leadership and performance management.
- Skilled in process design and risk management.
- Clear communicator with senior stakeholders.
