As a Ground Maintenance Engineer, you'll be at the heart of operations supporting the A330-200 Voyager aircraft. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your work ensures the safe arrival and departure of aircraft that play a vital role in national defence. You'll be part of a close-knit team driving innovation and transformation across our aviation business, contributing to a mission that truly matters.

Responsibilities

• Performing aircraft see-in and see-off duties
• Marshalling aircraft safely on the ground
• Operating and maintaining de-icing equipment and fluids
• Driving and positioning vehicles and equipment to support aircraft movements
• Conducting aircraft toilet and water servicing, including sterilisation and refilling

Essential experience

• Experience with large aircraft and ground support equipment
• Familiarity with specialist airfield vehicles
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to work shifts and adapt to operational needs

Qualifications

• Basic driving licence
• C1 licence - desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.

Location, status and pattern

At Babcock, we are recruiting for a Ground Maintenance Engineer at RAF Brize Norton, near Carterton, Oxfordshire. This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at RAF Brize Norton. The shift pattern is 4 on / 4 off alternating day and night shifts. Day shift: 06:30 - 18:30; Night shift: 18:30 - 06:30. Many roles are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions which may affect eligibility based on place of birth, nationality, or residency.
