Overview

We are delighted to be supporting a growing transport and engineering consultancy who are looking to appoint a Graduate Transport Planner to their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in transport planning, gaining exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects—from small-scale residential developments through to complex, mixed-use schemes.

The Role

As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will play a key role in supporting the team across all aspects of transport planning and development. This role provides a varied workload and the opportunity to develop technical skills alongside experienced colleagues, with clear pathways for career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Collecting, reviewing, and interpreting transport and traffic data.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
  • Using TRICS software to estimate trip generation for new developments.
  • Supporting junction capacity modelling using industry-standard tools such as Junctions 9 and LinSig.
  • Carrying out site visits and accessibility assessments for various transport modes.
  • Collaborating with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Contributing to written reports and technical documentation.
About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic graduate with a genuine interest in transport planning and development. You will bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
