We're looking for a Graduate Transport Consultant to join our highly successful Transport team in our Leeds or Newcastle office, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme, where you'll be delivering sustainable projects for our communities, planet and society.

The Transport Planning team is a dynamic mix of apprentices, graduates and professionals. You'll be immersed in impactful local and national projects, allowing you to gain early client exposure and exceptional professional development within an innovative and multi-disciplinary environment.

As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment and will benefit from strong support from both office and technical colleagues, as well as significant guidance from senior staff within our open and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

Your role:

  • Work on a diverse range of tasks including designing cycle routes and assessing traffic impacts, promoting active travel and creating transport strategies for new towns.
  • Contribute to projects by preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, designing sustainable transport and road safety schemes, using software for transport modelling and impact analysis, conducting research, liaising with external suppliers, and preparing reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
  • Collaborate with clients, councils and other professionals in meetings and workshops.
  • Work on a wide range of public and private sector projects across the North of England, including a major freight interchange, business cases for new rail stations, supporting urban public transport systems and regenerating towns and cities.

  • A Collaborator - You work effectively with lots of different people, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
  • An Eager Learner - You learn from your experiences and the world around you, using this knowledge to anticipate how situations may unfold.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office a minimum of 4 days per week, to ensure that you receive sufficient time with your team and receive the appropriate level of support.
