Graduate Assistant Planner

Location: Cardiff

A well‑established private multi‑disciplinary consultancy based in Cardiff is looking to recruit a Planner with around 1 year's professional experience to join their growing planning team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career planner to gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of projects while working within a supportive, collaborative environment.

The Role

You will be involved in the delivery of planning services across a diverse portfolio of developments, including residential, commercial and mixed‑use schemes. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications
  • Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
  • Assisting with planning statements and supporting documentation
  • Liaising with local authorities, clients and internal technical teams
  • Monitoring planning applications and appeals
About You
  • Approximately 1 year's experience in a planning role (public or private sector)
  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Working towards (or interest in) RTPI accreditation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive and organised approach to work
