Job Description
Reporting to the Group Manager (Parking Services), you will be part of a team that delivers an effective parking service for Glasgow.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of major parking control schemes and minor parking restriction measures.
- Contribute to the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process, manage works programmes, and enforce existing on-road parking restrictions and bus priority measures.
- Manage and maintain the city's parking assets, including parking zones and the provision of disabled parking spaces.
- Produce reports, collate performance monitoring information, liaise with external contractors and other bodies, and meet project timescales within budget.
- Provide technical advice, respond to correspondence from members of the public/elected members, and attend site meetings/public exhibitions when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Good communication skills, proficient IT skills, and a current UK driving licence.
- Ability to attend meetings outside standard office hours.
- Proficiency in using 2D AutoCAD. An AutoCAD test lasting approximately 10 minutes will form part of the interview process if invited.
- Experience with KEYLines and SignPlot software for the production of road marking/road signage plans is desirable.
- Previous experience in a roads/traffic/road safety related environment, report writing, works planning, budgetary control, and knowledge of UK roads and traffic legislation is desirable.
Working Arrangements
This post offers Hybrid working whereby staff are required to attend the office a minimum of 60% over a 10 working day period.
