Job summary

A major construction firm is seeking a Graduate Planner in Port Talbot. You will join a planning team to assist with the development and validation of site programmes, and ensure effective communication throughout the project. The ideal candidate has a construction-related diploma or degree and experience working with a main contractor. This position offers an opportunity to be part of significant construction projects valued over £200m.

Qualifications

  • A construction related diploma or degree qualification.
  • Good understanding of building sequencing.
  • Working knowledge of 3D models and preferably Synchro.
  • Competent in use of Powerproject.
  • Good understanding of planning, programming and progress reporting.
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Experience of working with a main contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a planning team, reporting to the Planning Manager.
  • Assist with development and validation of site programmes.
  • Update programmes within SRM master programmes.
  • Establish and collate progress records and Performance Indicators.
  • Good understanding of building sequencing.
  • Working knowledge of 3D models and preferably Synchro.
  • Competent in use of Powerproject.
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Experience of working with a main contractor.

Overview

SRM are preparing for the commencement of a major programme of construction works in Port Talbot, South Wales. The works to be undertaken will involve heavy construction/ civil engineering works across a variety of industrial work fronts over the next 3 to 4 years, commencing initially with a series of enabling works. If you are a Civil Engineer with experience working on large multi-million-pound multi-disciplinary projects, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Team in Port Talbot to work on an interesting, complex and technically challenging project. The project value will be in excess of £200m and will be undertaken under an NEC form of contract.
