Graduate Occupational Monitoring Technician, Bretby

To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Occupational Hygiene Team. SOCOTEC is the leading provider of Environment and Safety service across UK. With 1.3 million workers in the UK suffering from work-related health issues, SOCOTEC’s teams undertake a range of services to assist clients in monitoring, assessing and controlling human exposure to chemical, physical and biological hazards in the Workplace.

Our highly qualified specialists provide a market-leading service offering the assurance of compliance with legislation and regulations, including COSHH Regulations, Control of Noise at Work Regulations and Control of Vibration at Work Regulations.

We’re looking for a Graduate Occupational Monitoring Technician to join an enthusiastic team delivering occupational monitoring services to a wide range of clients across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in helping clients understand how health hazards affect the health of workers, how significant the risks may be and advise on reducing those risks by identifying suitable controls
  • To assist in producing technical reports detailing site observations, laboratory results and offering advice and guidance to clients
  • Assist, train and become competent to carry out varied survey types including occupational air/exposure monitoring for a wide range of substances, occupational noise & vibration (HAV & WBV) assessments, LEV inspection & testing, indoor air quality surveys, lighting surveys, COSHH risk assessments, environmental noise & vibration surveys, electromagnetic field (EMF) surveys (training provided)
  • To assist in delivering occupation hygiene consultancy services to varied clients nationwide
Requirements
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and good time management skills
  • A Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel and accommodate overnight stays when necessary
