What you\'ll be doing

The Mechanical and Thermal Engineering team are involved in the development of future aerospace, security and defence systems. Areas of application include structural design of electrical, optical and electro-magnetic devices and mechanisms; analysis of systems subject to harsh operating environments; and the development of thermal management solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Receiving, interpreting and clarifying instructions from customers or colleagues and providing feedback and design input to help develop the design concept.
  • Designs will be developed using CAD systems by producing 3D solid models of the parts and assemblies involved, supported by calculations and analysis where appropriate, then producing mechanical drawings and other data to facilitate manufacture and assembly.
  • Designs may need to be analysed to ensure the structural integrity and thermal management performance.
  • Production of design descriptions and performance reports for design review and communications with the customer.
