Overview

Graduate CAD Technician (M&E)
Nottingham

The Role

You will be working on projects of various sizes to produce accurate drawings of mechanical & electrical building services using your understanding of mechanical engineering. These will include roof supports, basic bracketry, modular frames, pipe support systems, and walkways using Autodesk Inventor and interacting with customers\' models in Navisworks and REVIT. The drawings start from initial design through to fabrication and installation-ready drawings.

• Understanding and visualising customers' needs to provide designed and engineered solutions that meet specifications, situational detail, and budget requirements


• Create high-quality (right first time) technical 2D & 3D drawings.


• Deliver detailed manufacturing drawings to the workshop for construction


• Supply detailed requirements to 3rd parties for laser cut parts, powder coating, galvanising or other outsourced work


• Support the Engineering Manager to perform basic structural load calculations


• Develop design concepts for new products and innovations.

The Person

• CAD Technician experience from an M&E background OR


• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with AutoCAD experience and a successful work placement
