Role Overview

For our Reply office in Manchester, we’re currently recruiting software engineers with a strong interest in joining a leading IT consultancy. As a software engineer, you’ll develop new systems and applications on the basis of detailed specifications which will include designing, coding, testing and debugging of applications. Responsibilities
  • You’ll work directly with customers to quickly understand their problems, collaboratively create technical designs and then work in a small team with minimal supervision to deploy the solution into an AWS‑based environment
  • Write, amend, refactor and document code to build moderately complex programs / components / scripts whilst applying agreed modelling techniques, standards, patterns and tools
  • Understand and analyse a client’s organisation/operation and requirements in order to produce recommendations, technical design documents and time/cost estimates
  • Work with other digital disciplines to understand user needs and what needs to be built, identifying, creating and applying software development and security standards and processes as required
  • Support the general delivery process on projects, helping the customer with remote and on‑site support activities
About the candidate
  • A minimum Bachelor’s degree (2.1 or higher) is required in IT, Computer Science, or in a Technology‑related field
  • Excellent inter‑personal and communicative skills
  • Advanced knowledge in software languages like JavaScript, Typescript, Java, Python or Terraform HCL as well as frameworks like Express.js, React, vue.js , Spring Boot, TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Strong interest in serverless computing and in cloud‑based solutions built using AWS native services
  • Interest in developing generative AI solutions for customers
  • You’re flexible in regards to business travelling as well as working across different projects
