GP Partner - Wyre Forest Health Partnership

Wyre Forest Health Partnership (WFHP) - up to 8 Sessions.

This is a unique opportunity to join a large established, multi-site Partnership as a full equity partner (Subject to an initial 6 month mutual probationary period).

This role will be based primarily at our Kidderminster Medical Centre site with opportunities for cross site working.

WFHP has 28 GP Partners, 30 salaried GPs and employs 300 healthcare and administrative staff. All WFHP practices are training practices and the Partnership has a large cohort of Medical Students, F2s and GP Registrars.

We are a large GP Partnership serving the Wyre Forest area. The Partnership has 5 practices in Kidderminster and the local area and serves 73,000 patients.

As one of the largest organisations in the Wyre Forest area WFHP has a stable and established leadership structure. GP Partners elect a decision making Partnership board of 6 partner representatives. A senior leadership team headed by an experienced Managing Director manage the day to day operation and deliver the strategic objectives set by the Partnership board.

With practices situated in Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport and Hagley, WFHP serves both urban and semi-rural areas. The successful applicant will be based at one of our established modern practices, but as a member of a Partnership with full profit share between sites, may be expected to work across various locations.

Main duties of the job

We support the development of various specialist clinical interests along with leadership, teaching and research opportunities. Partners have the opportunity to pick up various portfolios of work at Partnership level, including finance, business development, site leadership and clinical compliance.

WFHP has set the full time equivalent for GP Partners as 8 sessions per week.

GP Workload is formatted in a consistent manner across the Partnership;

  • Each routine session is capped at 15 contacts.
  • No home visits dedicated home visiting is ANP-led.
  • Six weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • One week of guaranteed paid study leave per year.
  • Innovative back-room function that minimises the need to review long-term condition blood results or clinical letters.
  • All GPs are provided with a laptop; flexible working is supported.
  • Support from a multi-disciplinary team including pharmacists, physiotherapists, and care coordinators.
  • Experienced triage GPs who book appointments; all booked patient contacts are GP-appropriate.
  • Regular away-day sessions, where all partners meet for training and business planning.
  • Regular educational meetings and supervision (both on-site and cross-partnership).
