Overview

Goods Inwards Inspector – Motherwell

Mon–Thu, 7:00am–4:15pm (35-hour week) • Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and approve components and materials from suppliers, including 1st-off samples
  • Perform dimensional checks using micrometers, vernier calipers, depth gauges, surface measuring tools, and CMM equipment
  • Identify quality issues and lead the process through to resolution
  • Evaluate warranty returns and work cross-functionally with engineers to reach technical conclusions
  • Record issues, data and actions using systems such as SAP, Q-Pulse, and Excel
  • Support new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives across the quality function
Experience & Skills
  • Strong personality with the confidence to challenge, ask questions, and investigate root causes
  • Previous inspection experience in automotive, oil & gas, construction equipment, marine, precision or assembly (or similar) industries
  • Solid knowledge of engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience using CMM machines and measurement tools; familiarity with digital platforms such as Power BI, SAP, or Q-Pulse
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, take initiative, and juggle multiple tasks
