Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer - Leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy

This is a great opportunity for a Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer to join a prominent UK-based engineering consultancy known for several decades of excellence in infrastructure, ground engineering, environmental and design solutions. This role is ideal for passionate engineers who are eager to develop advanced technical expertise and contribute to a diverse portfolio spanning rail, infrastructure, and development projects.

Theis position is aimed at engineers looking to progress beyond entry-level, typically with experience ranging from early career to mid-level within the ground engineering and geo-environmental consultancy sector. You will have the flexibility to shape your own development through involvement in a wide range of responsibilities, from desk-based studies through validation and completion of design projects.

Project Involvement:

  • Engaged in ground engineering across the full lifecycle: from preliminary desk studies to site investigation oversight, geotechnical design, interpretation, and remediation validation.

Regional Focus: Most projects are regionally based, with regular client and site interaction.

Design Specialisms: The role allows development in both geo‑environmental and geotechnical disciplines, with particular growth in rail sector skills such as soil nailing, slope stabilisation, rock netting.

Team Environment: You will be part of a close‑knit geo team, working within a larger office of 20+ skilled professionals across design, structural, civil, transportation, planning, and environmental services. Knowledge sharing, mentoring, and on‑the‑job learning are core to the team’s development ethos.
