Wanted - Geotechnical Engineer / Geo-Environmental Consultant / Civil Engineer / Design Manager considered (Open to candidates already working for a main contractor or from consultancy side with transferable experience). Assistant, Intermediate, or Senior level candidates considered (several jobs available).

ROLE: Our client is open to candidates from consultancy backgrounds or those already employed by main contractors. They do not expect candidates to be fully experienced in all areas but are willing to provide training and support for transferable skills. As part of a growing in-house geotechnical team, you will support geotechnical and earthworks issues across various projects in building and civil engineering sectors. Your responsibilities include liaising with external design consultants, advising site teams, and providing value engineering solutions when applicable.

DUTIES: As a Geotechnical Advisor, your duties will include:

  • Providing technical support regarding geotechnical requirements on live projects
  • Assisting in Earthworks procurement and reviewing Earthworks specifications, strategies, and plans
  • Conducting on-site testing and site investigations (procurement and observations)
  • Validating earthwork strategies and preparing Geotechnical Risk Registers and assessments
  • Supporting the Design Team and liaising with external geotechnical engineers, clients, and subcontractors
  • Resolving issues during and after construction (note: this is more a design management / project management / advisory role, not hands-on design)

REQUIREMENTS: To be considered, candidates must meet:

  • Knowledge of Building and/or Civil Engineering sectors
  • Previous employment as a Geotechnical Engineer, Design Engineer, Civil Engineer, Geo-Environmental Consultant, Geotechnical Advisor, or Design Manager
  • Strong background in Foundation Design/Geotechnics
  • Experience in main contractor environments preferred but not essential
  • Candidates from consultancy or subcontractor backgrounds will also be considered
  • Relevant industry qualifications (Degree / HND / HNC)
  • Experience in Earthworks or Slope Stability projects (desirable)
  • Some Earthworks supervision experience (advantageous)

LOCATION: This role involves a mix of remote work and site visits across various locations nationwide. Flexibility to travel is required. While the company is based in the Midlands, candidates from other regions who can travel are also encouraged to apply.
