Are you a newly qualified GP (within the last twoyears, without a substantive post) looking for an exciting and supportive roleto launch your career? I3 Primary Care Network are seeking an enthusiastic,forward-thinking GP to join our team on a fixed-term salaried contract until 31March 2025.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiasticGeneral Practitioner to join our team atRotton Park Medical Centre,a vibrant inner-city training practice. The successful candidate will be basedat this single site, working alongside experienced salaried GPs and GP Partnersin a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a training practice, we host GP registrars, FY2doctors, and medical students, creating a rich and dynamic setting forprofessional development and teaching.

We are currently offering up tofiveclinical sessions per week, with funding available to support this. However,we are flexible and open tojob share arrangementsto suit theright candidate.

You will be a highly motivated and dedicated NewlyQualified GP to join our multidisciplinary team under the NHS Additional RolesReimbursement Scheme (ARRS).

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred care across the PCN.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, mental health practitioners, and social prescribers, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Conduct consultations, assessments, and follow-ups with patients, utilising ARRS-funded services to support patient needs.
  • Contribute to the management of chronic disease, health promotion, and disease prevention in line with best practices and PCN goals.
  • Participate in clinical audits, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care within the PCN.
  • Support the development and implementation of new care pathways that align with ARRS objectives.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • To provide a comprehensive range of clinical duties at the agreed Surgeries within our Primary Care Network, which may also include working within our Enhanced Access Service.
  • To undertake surgery consultations, home visits where necessary, and telephone queries from patients and health care professionals.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • To undertake on-call duties as part of the Surgery on-call rota, where agreed. This may include requesting that patients present at the surgery, telephone consultations, home visits and triage.
  • Work with patients in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments. Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects, and interactions
  • Assess, identify, and refer patients presenting with mental health needs in accordance with national and local guidelines.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Reviewing correspondence from outside agencies and taking appropriate action.
  • Reviewing and actioning clinical results on a rota basis.

Qualifications
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP Register - Certificate of completion date must be within 2 years and not having held a substantive post before.
  • Certificate of Completion of Training in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration, or equivalent.
  • Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience
  • Experience of using electronic clinical patient records.
  • Experience of medicines management.
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit.
  • Understanding of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including General Practice, the GMS contract, Clinical Governance, Network Contract DES, and Quality & Outcomes Framework.
  • Knowledge of the health needs of the surgery population.
Other Requirements
  • Flexibility to work outside of core office hours.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing compassionate care.
  • Experience with EMIS Web or similar clinical systems is an advantage.
  • Membership of a relevant Medical Defence Union.
