Responsibilities

  • Support the Design Team in creating accurate 1st prototype specs for the Supply Base.
  • Liaise with the Designer & Buyer about price and critical path adjustments.
  • Ensure garments are viable for production regarding cost and quality.
  • Request relevant bulk tests and garment testing.
  • Conduct wearer trials for new fabrics and details.
  • Visit the supply base to support new suppliers.
  • Train the Warehouse team in identifying poor quality.
  • Conduct scheduled shop visits according to trends.
  • Review quality returns report and act accordingly.
  • Maintain professional relationships with head office and store teams.

Our Client is one of the UK's fastest-growing luxury fashion brands. As a direct-to-consumer business, they operate in a truly omnichannel way.

We are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist with technical garment construction fit, testing, and grading knowledge, with a love of luxury garments and close attention to detail. The ideal candidate must have experience in Woven s& Soft Separates.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support the Design Team in the creation of accurate 1st prototype specs and packs for the Supply Base that is in line with business standards.
  • To liaise with the Designer & Buyer where alterations or comments affect price, quantity, or the critical path.
  • To ensure that garments are viable for production from a cost and quality perspective.
  • To ensure that there is a test report (base) for all cloth/ yarn, interlining, trim, and artwork at the proto stage.
  • To ensure the relevant bulk tests & garment testing are requested, ensuring quality and costs are considered.
  • To ensure a wearer trial is conducted on new fabric, high-risk style/ details, and action are taken accordingly.
  • To visit the supply base when required: to develop and support new suppliers.
Additional Tasks
  • To regularly make scheduled visits to the Warehouse to support & train the team in the identification of poor quality/poor manufacturing/customer abuse.
  • To regularly make, scheduled shop visits in line with trends/retailers specified by the Design and/or Buying team.
  • To review the monthly quality returns report and take the appropriate action when necessary.
  • To build and maintain good working & professional relationships with head office, store, and warehouse teams.
