We’re looking for an experienced Legal Counsel for a 3-6 month contract role to join a high-performing investment legal team supporting a sophisticated, best-in-class investment strategy. You’ll work closely with portfolio managers, senior leaders, and external counsel to deliver expert legal advice on complex private fund and asset management transactions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advising on private investment fund transactions (commingled funds, co-investments, funds of one) from initial funding through to ongoing matters.
  • Reviewing and negotiating limited partnership agreements, side letters, subscription agreements and more.
  • Providing legal input on private debt, investment management agreements, and BAU asset management queries.
  • Managing relationships with external counsel, investment partners, and tax advisers.
  • Monitoring regulatory and legal frameworks affecting investment funds and asset management.
  • Presenting advice at senior forums and ensuring risks are managed within the organisation’s appetite.

What we’re looking for:

  • UK-qualified lawyer with strong post-qualification experience in asset management, private funds, or pensions.
  • Expertise in private investment funds, co-investments, funds of one, direct private equity, direct debt, and asset management queries.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to balance legal risk and commerciality.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience with derivatives documentation (ISDA, GMRA) is desirable.
