Job summary

A local authority repairs service is seeking an experienced Repairs Surveyor to provide a customer-focused surveying service in Havering. This role involves delivering a responsive repairs service, conducting inspections, supervising contractors, and managing a varied caseload. Ideal candidates will have strong diagnostic skills, expertise in housing repairs, and excellent communication skills, with local knowledge being a definite advantage. Competitive rate of £35 per hour offered for an initial 3-month contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing repairs, maintenance surveying or building pathology.
• Knowledge of damp, structural and building fabric issues.
• Confident supervising contractors and managing works on site.
• Knowledge of voids surveying and delivering lettable standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a responsive repairs surveying service including defect diagnosis.
• Carry out inspections such as damp & mould, structural concerns.
• Supervise contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Inspect void properties and specify works required.
• Monitor and manage performance across your caseload.
