About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will inspire and educate students, fostering a love for food technology and healthy living.

About the School

The school is a mixed secondary school for students aged 11 to 16, with around 900 students in total. The school promotes language learning and aims to create a friendly and enthusiastic environment through teaching. The school places great value on its staff and offers support to its team.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Food Technology to students of varying abilities.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets national standards and encourages creativity, practical skills, and an understanding of nutrition.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Keep up to date with developments in Food Technology and education, integrating new knowledge into teaching practice.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
