Job Title: Assistant Flood Risk Consultant

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000

This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a leading, diverse multidisciplinary consultancy, renowned for lending their expertise to a range of projects across the civil and structural engineering landscapes. My client is seeking a motivated, committed Assistant Flood Risk Consultant, willing to take on challenging projects alongside a team of expert design engineers and technicians, covering a range of projects across South Wales, to include the beautiful, coastal city of Swansea.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting flood risk surveys for planning, mitigation of properties, and assessments
  • Undertaking site-specific flood risk analysis, driven by climate change
  • Preparing flood risk assessments, flood consequence assessments, flood management plans, and drainage strategies
  • Preparing SAB applications for submission to the relevant local authorities
  • Utilising GIS software programmes to analyse and interpret flood risk data
  • Contributing to the in-house flood risk database
  • Providing support to other colleagues across a wide range of tasks
  • Participating in team meetings and site visits, as and when required
Required skills and experience
  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant discipline
  • Demonstrable experience of authoring flood risk assessments and flood consequence assessments
  • Experience of producing flood mitigation reports, and/or preparing and submitting SAB applications
  • Excellent working knowledge of GIS software and its uses in data analysis
  • Possess a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
  • Live locally, possessing a good knowledge of the region and its characteristics
  • Be willing to travel to a wide variety of sites, as and when required
