Overview

First Contact Physiotherapist position in Nottingham! Earn £28-£47 per hour including holiday pay.

A GP surgery in Nottingham is looking to enhance service delivery by seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join their clinical team on a locum basis.

You would be the first person to see patients booking appointments for musculoskeletal issues, such as back, neck or joint pain, assess and diagnose, provide expert advice on how to manage conditions and create management plans. If needed, you would also refer on to specialist services. This is a multidisciplinary team role that uses the full scope of your specialist practice and offers professional stimulation and reward.

You would contribute to primary care services in the area, helping alleviate pressure on GPs, increase speed of treatment and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. The role provides excellent CPD evidence for your portfolio.

Contract and compensation

You would initially join the team for 6 months as a locum, with potential to extend or transfer to a permanent position. Locum pay starts at £38.50 per hour including holiday pay, with a flexible daytime weekday rota you can set to achieve a good work/life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Be the first point of contact for patients with musculoskeletal issues; assess, diagnose and manage conditions; develop management plans.
  • Refer to specialist services when appropriate and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support primary care services to reduce GP workload and strive for timely treatment and reduced hospital admissions.
Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy
  • Professional registration with HCPC and CSP
  • Experience independently seeing patients for Minor Injuries, Injection Therapy, Musculoskeletal issues including Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Chronic Pain
  • Band 8 level (Agenda for Change)
