Job summary

A leading aerospace company is seeking an Aerospace Quality / First Article Inspector to support customer programs in Wolverhampton. This full-time role involves interpreting engineering drawings, conducting AS9102 First Article Inspections, and utilizing both manual and automated inspection tools. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on inspection experience within aerospace and strong communication skills while working with engineering teams to resolve quality issues. This position requires close proximity to Wolverhampton and falls inside IR35.

Job description

Seeking an Aerospace Quality / First Article Inspector to be based on-site supporting a customer programme in Wolverhampton, working full-time, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on inspection experience within aerospace and be confident performing First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102 standards.

The Support Will Include
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Dimensional and visual inspection of complex aerospace components
  • Conducting AS9102 First Article Inspections and preparing FAIRs
  • Use of manual and automated inspection equipment
  • Support with CMM inspection activities (Zeiss Calypso experience advantageous)
  • Producing clear and accurate inspection reports
  • Working with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues
  • Supporting inspection needs during NPI phases
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in aerospace quality inspection (FAI experience essential)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good working knowledge of manual inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Experience within an AS9100 quality system
  • Familiarity with CMMs or automated inspection systems advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Based within a commutable distance of Wolverhampton
