Your New Role

As Surveyor (Private Sector Housing Team), you will provide expert building surveying support and advice across all activities relating to private sector housing. You will undertake property inspections, diagnose defects, and prepare schedules of works, ensuring compliance with housing health and safety standards.

You will manage tendering processes, supervise contractors, and oversee works on site, including those carried out under enforcement powers. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high‑quality outcomes that improve housing conditions and protect residents.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Fully qualified Surveyor or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation relating to private sector housing enforcement (Housing Act 2004, Fire Safety Order, Environmental Protection Act, etc.).
  • Experience in surveying, preparing specifications, and supervising works on site.
  • Ability to manage tendering processes and contractual compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications
  • Degree or HNC in Building Surveying or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
