A leading healthcare trust in London is looking for a Finance Manager - Research and Development to oversee financial information for projects, support budget managers, and manage a small team. Candidates should have a first degree, CCAB qualification, and extensive experience in NHS R&D functions. This role is permanent and offers a competitive salary of £64,156 to £71,148 per year along with various benefits.
There is now an exciting opportunity to join the Trust as Finance Manager - Research and Development. The post-holder is responsible for overseeing the provision of accurate and timely financial information for the Research and Development (Discovery) Division, supporting budget managers and principal investigators with their financial responsibilities, line management of two Whole Time Equivalents, and working collaboratively with other research organisations and external funding organisations.

Job responsibilities: Ensuring all management accounting duties are fulfilled for R&D (Discovery) Division including annual budget-setting process, in-year monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis. Training, advising, and supporting budget holders in their financial responsibilities. Supporting Principal Investigators by securing funding for the research projects, and financial oversight of their projects from inception to close-down. Line management of Management Accountant and trainee Management Accountant. Ensuring all external reporting requirements are met, including meeting deadlines that are sometimes challenging. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including DHSC, NIHR, NHS Trusts, Universities, charities and other funders.
