Overview

FINANCE MANAGER - FUEL (12 Month FTC)

Role and team

As a key member of the Fuel team, this role reports into the Senior Manager - Fuel Strategy and ESG, providing complete financial ownership and delivery of financial planning, reporting and analysis for Fuel and acting as a key business partner.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-end finance contact for Fuel, providing complete financial management and ownership for these areas.
  • Business partnership between business owners and financial performance of easyJet.
  • Month-end deliverables, strategic and annual planning, forecasts, projects, and insightful analysis for the business.
  • Provide current (actuals) and future performance analysis and guidance on forecasts, budgets and 5-year plans.
  • Collaborate with the wider Fuel team and Flight Operations to drive and monitor cost-saving initiatives, identifying threats and opportunities and taking remedial action.
Key activities
  • Business Partnering: Establish a true business partner framework within the Fuel team and with Treasury, Flight Ops, Sustainability, Fuel Procurement, Accounting and Controls, Central FP&A; ensure stakeholders are supported with insight and information.
  • Support managing: Budget and Outlook; cost programme strategy and delivery; monthly reporting and analysis reviews; weekly P&L re-forecasting; business case evaluation and decision support; 5-year plan forecasting; ad-hoc projects.
  • Business Performance and Analytical support: Own monthly detailed cost analysis to drive performance and cost base improvements; ensure accurate weekly P&L forecasting into the consolidated model; provide insights into risks and opportunities; support Fuel Operations in driving continuous improvements in operations and in Finance processes; prepare budget packs detailing variances and strategy for senior management; lead financial evaluation and ad-hoc project finance support; review Month End output with Accounting and Controls to ensure reporting accuracy; generate full month-end analysis of variances and track cost-saving initiatives; report on cost programme initiatives.
  • People Leadership, Relationships and Influence: Maintain effective cross-functional relationships and provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders.
Qualifications and competencies
  • Qualified accountant with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to manage large, complex, fast-moving entities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong variance analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate key issues from large data sets clearly; manage time across tasks to meet deadlines; ability to deliver detailed insight to support the business.
  • Proven ability to interpret accounting complexity across balance sheet, cash flow and P&L; effective communication and challenge with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive team player with initiative and self-starting capability.
  • Excellent Excel skills (up to basic macros) and Planning Analytics experience preferred; strong commercial acumen.
  • Aviation experience preferred but not essential; experience in a business partner environment within a similar EMEA/global organisation with multiple units and diverse workforce.

Location and hours

This full-time role will be based in Luton on a hybrid working model and will be 40 hours per week.
