Job description

Axon Moore are supporting an owner managed business in South Yorkshire with the appointment of a Part-Time Finance Director (2 Days per week). This is a long term, part time FD role rather than a short-term, fractional piece of work. The business has a proud history and services a loyal client base, with a healthy order book going in to 2026 and beyond. The Finance Director will straddle both strategic support to the owner, alongside hands‑on management of the key tasks within the finance department. They will ideally be working 2 days per week, at their site in South Yorkshire with good links to the M1.

Key duties of the role will include:

• Managing cash flows and daily cash position for the business, ensuring working capital processes are tightly ran and controlled
• Overseeing the statutory reporting process at year end and meeting all reporting requirements
• Managing the banking and audit relationships
• Offering strategic support to the owner, managing risks, opportunities and growth
• Manage stock control and peaks and troughs of supply / demand

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following credentials:

• Qualified accountant with significant experience as an FD / Head of Finance, ideally in an owner managed or PE backed business
• Must be someone who can be hands on, working as part of a small finance function, as well as support the owner with the company strategy
