Job summary

A market-leading design company in Witham is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team. This temporary to permanent position involves daily bookkeeping, managing supplier accounts, and general administration duties. Candidates should have experience with Excel and accounting software, and interpersonal skills are essential. The role offers a salary of £12.21 - £13.00 per hour based on experience, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

  • Ability to respond to enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility in covering for absent team members.

Job description

A market leading, design company in Witham are recruiting a Finance Assistant to join their team ASAP. This is a temporary - permanent position working in the office Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm, Paying 12.21 - 13.00 per hour depending on experience.

Your key duties in this Finance Assistant role will include but are not limited to:

  • Daily bookkeeping activities.
  • Matching, checking, and inputting of purchase invoices.
  • Reconciling supplier accounts and preparation of payment reports for approval.
  • Reconciliation of credit card transactions.
  • Management of the finance inbox, responding to enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Collating basis reports for month end analysis.
  • Petty cash reconciliation and posting.
  • Finance filing.
  • Flexible in providing cover for other finance team members when absent/unavailable.
  • Ad hoc general administration duties including answering phone calls.

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this role:

  • Excel (using formulas, grouping and sorting data), MS Office and accounting software knowledge, preferably QuickBooks
  • An understanding of accounting principles is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, with good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in liaising with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Highly motivated, ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience within an office environment, preferably a similar role.
  • Working towards AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification is preferred but not essential.
