Job description
Overview

You will be a valued member of the overall Finance team. Working within the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship (Level 3) scheme, you will get the opportunity to develop your accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills, leading to a recognised Accountancy qualification. You will also be asked to help implement change in the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Gain a strong understanding of Purchase Ledger functionality in our accounting system Navision.
  • Process documents and journals accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Analyse, code with accuracy and obtain appropriate sign off on invoices for both purchases and overheads.
  • Automate Invoice recognition within our Document Capture software.
  • Record invoices onto our Navision accounting system across multiple vendors and currencies.
  • Contact suppliers for statements and missing invoices.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure sign off does not delay processing of invoices.
  • Allocation of overheads to relevant cost centres.
  • Post supplier payments on to the Purchase Ledger.
  • Be part of ad-hoc projects, such as system maintenance and process improvement.
  • Liaise with our sales team to receive and record in a timely manner, all expenses and costs.
  • Help rest of Finance Team with nominal postings as required.
  • Provide support for other departments in Finance if necessary.
