Job description
Overview

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Finance Analyst, covering corporate directorates including Workforce and Training & Education.

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), situated in the West End of London, is one of the largest NHS trusts in the United Kingdom and provides first class acute and specialist services both locally and to patients from throughout the UK and abroad.

The role is responsible to the Finance Manager and Head of Finance; you will work in partnership with the relevant directors and service leads to provide an all-round financial management service including planning, forecasting, cost improvement identification and tracking and providing support to business cases.

The Trust receives approximately £40m funding annually to support education and training, and a key part of this role is to ensure the funding is managed and allocated across the Trust to support educational needs. There is also a growing focus on demonstrating how the funding received is spent, and this role will be essential in developing and maintaining the financial modelling required to support this.

The role will also oversee the Workforce Directorate, which will involve a more conventional financial management service but also offer plentiful challenges and developmental opportunities. You will be expected to contribute actively to the running of the Finance department, generate service improvement ideas, and deputise as required for the Finance Manager and Head of Finance. You will be a strong communicator capable of presenting complex financial information to non-Finance staff in ways that ensure engagement and understanding. The post holder will be based at 250 Euston Road in offices opposite the main hospital site with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week.
