Under the supervision of the Field Service Manager, this role as a Field Service Technician involves promoting the Vulcanic brand and providing Field Service support. You will travel to customer sites to perform equipment checkout, start-up, and troubleshooting of heater and control panel equipment, including heating cable. Additionally, you will conduct electrical and mechanical checks on heating equipment.
This is a remote position with travel to customer sites, ideally based in the Middle East.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate field service calls to meet group objectives for monthly performance.
- Install, service, or upgrade equipment at customer locations as required.
- Analyze installations, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify causes of nonconformity and operational issues.
- Diagnose technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and identify solutions for effective equipment operation.
- Perform troubleshooting and field wiring.
- Collaborate with other functions such as Safety, Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop detailed proposals for standard and custom service contracts.
- Provide training and guidance to customers on operation and maintenance of products.
- Coordinate critical target dates between customers, engineering, and production.
- Manage documentation requirements including drawings, testing, approvals, and submittals.
- Coordinate subcontractors involved in fieldwork as needed.
- Resolve customer complaints related to equipment, supplies, and services.
- Assist customers and representatives in troubleshooting equipment or application issues.
- Train and supervise others, providing guidance on operation and maintenance.
- Assist with start-up and installation at customer sites by phone or in person.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships; train and teach others.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support safety policies, procedures, and activities, promoting a safety culture and ensuring compliance and reporting.
Requirements:
- Significant experience as a technician is required.
- Degree in Science, Electric/Electronics, or equivalent required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing field conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, with travel time exceeding 80%.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, making decisions impacting project outcomes.
