Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Sheffield to install, service, and repair physical security systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, be physically fit for outdoor work, and have electrical knowledge as an advantage. Responsibilities include attending breakdowns and diagnostics, ensuring excellent customer service, and participating in an on-call rota. Qualifications

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work, outdoor environments, and confined spaces.
• Full UK driving licence (preferably clean) required.
• Must be able to pass a safety-critical medical and face-fit test.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair physical security equipment including gates, barriers, blockers and turnstiles.
• Attend breakdowns and perform fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Deliver excellent customer service on site and communicate clearly with clients.

Skills

Strong mechanical skillset

Electrical knowledge (e.g. 18th Edition, 3-phase, or 24v DC/AC systems)

Excellent customer service

Comfortable with manual work outdoors
