Overview

Do you have experience working as a Field Service Engineer? Our client develops smart solutions and technologies that connect people and systems to provide safer environments. They are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical customer support for the business, providing support and feedback on technical field issues & complaints.

Position: Field Service Engineer
Type: Permanent
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (OTE £35,000 - £45,000)
Working hours: Monday - Thursday 08:30-16:30, Friday 08:00-16:00
Location: West Birmingham

Responsibilities
  • Provide market leading customer service and technical support to all of our customers.
  • Support the corrective actions process by highlighting customer issues and needs, providing feedback on early warning product failures.
  • Support the focussed returns process, providing timely products/parts back to help identify product failures and allow modifications to be completed.
  • Actively promote our additional services and products.
  • Seek opportunities to reduce service costs by ensuring: reduction in parts usage, maintaining correct van stock profile, focus on high first-time fix rate, minimising the need for return visits, and reducing downtime to improve efficiencies.
  • Provide support for complaint escalations.
  • Attend product update meetings and refresher training.
  • Work with the Regional Lead Engineer to improve customer satisfaction and service efficiency.
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Fire alarm, access control or CCTV systems.
  • Experience in a field-based role (Full UK Driver's License).
