Job description

A respected and well-established law firm in the South West is seeking a Family Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE to join their team on Gloucester Road. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of family law matters, with a particular focus on mid to high-value financial claims.

The Role:

This position will suit an experienced and proactive family lawyer, capable of managing a varied caseload and delivering high-quality advice to clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing client matters from instruction to conclusion in a professional, efficient manner.
  • Advising on and progressing financial remedy cases, alongside broader family law matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial protocols.
  • Advising clients on funding options and maintaining appropriate arrangements.
  • Maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge and adhering to best practices.
  • Engaging in business development and contributing to the wider growth of the department.
  • Participating in regular file reviews and ensuring compliance with account procedures.


The Ideal Candidate:

The firm is looking for an individual who:

  • Has at least 2 years' PQE (or equivalent) in family law, with a strong track record in financial remedy work.
  • Is personable, confident, and demonstrates high levels of client care.
  • Is comfortable working autonomously while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Is IT literate and open to using modern systems and processes.
  • Shows enthusiasm for networking and business development, including digital engagement.
  • Ideally holds Resolution Accreditation or is a member of the Family Law Panel (desirable but not essential).
