Job summary

A prominent health service provider in Birmingham is seeking a Family Ambassador to support parents and carers of children needing inpatient care. Ideal candidates will have lived experience as a parent or unpaid carer, providing emotional guidance and practical support to families through challenging times. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, ensuring families' voices are heard and their concerns addressed. This role offers a chance to make a significant difference to the community by shaping compassionate, family-centered mental health services.

Qualifications

  • Must have lived experience as a parent or carer of a young person requiring Tier 4 inpatient treatment.
  • Experience in supporting peers in healthcare or social services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to families with children admitted to inpatient units.
  • Act as a bridge between families and professionals to ensure concerns are addressed.
  • Attend meetings to help families understand processes and provide emotional support.

Education

Educated to NVQ 4 level or equivalent experience
