Overview

A reputable and well-established company based in Basildon is seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Maintenance Operative to support the ongoing upkeep, compliance, and day-to-day maintenance of its premises. This hands-on role is ideal for someone experienced in general building maintenance who takes pride in creating a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and general repairs
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors performing on-site maintenance tasks
  • Maintain documentation and implementation of compliance-related tasks to ensure relevant health and safety regulations and policies are adhered to
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in outdoor and perimeter areas
  • Support with internal cleaning and hygiene-related duties
  • Keep accurate records and perform IT-based reporting related to maintenance
  • Legionella water testing, emergency lighting checks and tests, fire alarm tests, fire extinguisher checks, and more
Essential
  • Prior experience in a Facilities or Building Maintenance role
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and general repair tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with manual handling, working at height, and in confined spaces
  • Basic IT literacy for documentation and reporting

  • Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 per annum
