Overview

Facilities Area Manager - South West | £35,000 per annum | 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday | Full-time | Temp-to-Permanent

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Facilities Area Manager for an immediate start, covering various education sector sites across the South West from Barnstaple to Plymouth. This role involves managing, supervising, and coordinating cleaning teams to ensure consistent, reliable, and high standards of cleaning across all sites. A clean driving licence is required, and a company car will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Support cleaning teams and site supervisors to ensure reliable service delivery.
  • Allocate staff cover to teams and fill in for planned or unplanned absence.
  • Communicate with client representatives and maintain positive relationships.
  • Manage stock levels and storage at all sites, reporting discrepancies to Head Office.
  • Conduct monthly site inspections, audits, and quality procedures, and compile KPI reports.
  • Ensure compliance with site, company, and statutory safety, hygiene, and cleanliness regulations.
  • Report customer complaints to Line Managers and maintain polite, professional communication.
  • Minimise energy consumption and maximise recycling opportunities.
  • Attend meetings and training, particularly on Health & Safety and Manual Handling.
Requirements
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within commercial cleaning and/or education sector.
  • Adaptable, willing to work across multiple locations, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure with effective communication skills.
  • Passion for motivating and supporting cleaning teams to deliver high standards.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
