Job summary

A leading global facilities management provider is seeking a Fabric Engineer in Greater London. The successful candidate will be responsible for reactive maintenance tasks and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. Key responsibilities include repairs, site surveys, and client liaison. The role requires prior Carpentry experience, effective communication skills, and a health and safety qualification. This position requires a current UK driver’s license and the ability to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • Previous Fabric, Carpentry experience is required.
  • Experience of working in a high profile work environment.
  • Must possess a current UK driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive work within the team.

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Maintenance Technician to join the team located in Southside Shopping Centre, London.

Job Description Maintenance Technician
Role Summary
  • Respond to reactive work within the team
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed SLA timescales
  • Liaise with Clients representatives with respect to maintenance & repair tasks
  • Undertake site surveys & produce Works Requests, Method Statements & Risk Assessments for planned works
  • Repairs floor and wall coverings
  • Responsible for ceiling tile repairs and replacements
  • Responsible for other building and installation works as required
  • Carry out maintenance and repair activities when required (likely to be in the event of an emergency, or for holiday/sickness cover)
  • Accountable for lighting, general lamp changes, Filter Changes AHU’s / FCU’s and Basic Plumbing requirements
  • Use Mobile to complete works, key communications & updates
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs & projects in a timely manner
  • Undertake minor projects work, ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  • In addition to the above duties, you will be expected to undertake all reasonable tasks.
Experience Required
  • Previous Fabric, Carpentry experience
  • Experience of working in high profile work environment
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Equivalent in carpentry
  • Current UK driver’s license
  • PC & Mobile literate
  • Good Customer relationship skills
  • Understand and interpret technical drawings/instructions / processes
  • Ability to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements and trade/skills needed to complete a job.
  • Experience of H & S procedures & requirements. COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessment etc.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills and have demonstrated the ability to be approachable and tactful
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawings
  • Health & Safety Qualified i.e. IOSH / NEBOSH
  • Must be willing to work over & above contractual hours on occasion.
