Job description
Overview

VML Live is offering an exciting opportunity to become part of a large agency team managing global activation, events and content for a major F1 team partner. We’re seeking a driven Experiential Account Manager to support the Senior Account and Experiential Managers in liaising with the F1 team, other WPP agencies, our client’s global brand teams and central partnership team as we help deliver partnership activation plans with first class project management.

Based three days a week at our office in South Bank, the Experiential Account Manager will work within a client account team of twelve. The role provides an exciting opportunity to work on projects across our entire client scope over the course of each year – spanning global brand activation, end market activation and race hospitality programmes. This is a very much a client facing role which provides extensive autonomy and significant opportunity for growth.

We are a close-knit, collaborative team with a unique and vibrant culture. Clients value our creativity, our innovative thinking and our strategic, insight-based approach to every challenge. With our HQ in London and offices in other key locations, we are proud to be a division of VML and a WPP Group agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a key member of the account management team, with the confidence to guide the client with a positive, solutions-driven focus when required. Think on your feet, manage at speed and switch directions when needed.
  • Work closely with the client, their brand teams and regional/end market teams to ensure brand activation plans or hospitality programmes are proactively delivered to a high standard with full approval of the F1 team and other stakeholders as required.
  • Demonstrate outstanding project management and event management skills, excellent attention to detail and a high level of organisation.
  • Work across multiple projects with efficiency and flexibility.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the F1 team to foster a culture of creativity, problem solving and positivity.
  • Collaborate with VML Live Create throughout the activation planning and delivery process as required.
  • Support the Senior Account and Experiential Managers and senior client team with regular client and F1 team post-project reporting and budget reconciliation as required.
  • Expand current business relationships by identifying growth opportunities where relevant.
  • Maintain awareness of best practice in sponsorship activation to maximise the potential of market activation plans.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-discipline team members to ensure all parties are on track with project/race requirements, deadlines and schedules.
  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analysing and summarising relevant information.
  • Manage hospitality suppliers (transportation, accommodation, photography) and ensure events are GDPR- and health & safety-compliant.
  • Update risk and issue logs to help identify and resolve issues with support from the senior account management team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ objectives from initial proposals through delivery.
Key Requirements
  • Relevant account management experience / brand activation experience, preferably working within F1 or with another major sports sponsor and their markets on a global basis.
  • General understanding of social media and its role in brand amplification strategy.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, events and hospitality programmes, working towards tight deadlines. Ability to manage multiple projects with flexibility and efficiency.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial understanding.
  • Ability to juggle multiple workstreams, stakeholders and projects with a flexible attitude.
  • International mindset with the ability to operate in global regions seamlessly when required.
  • Confidence and professionalism to engage with clients at a senior level and a desire to develop a deep understanding of the client’s business objectives and challenges.
  • Agile mindset and ability to pivot as project requirements change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to grow personally and professionally as the role requires.
  • Some travel and weekend work both inside and outside the UK may be required from time to time to deliver client events.
  • Ability to write and speak a leading foreign language is beneficial but not essential.
  • A desire to immerse yourself in our agency environment and contribute to the wider agency culture.

In addition to the day-to-day, this role offers the opportunity to become part of an ambitious and hardworking team with a passionate, nurturing and trusting culture. We provide competitive benefits, a flexible working model and initiatives that support your career and wellbeing and enable creativity to flourish, including 25 days holiday (+bank holidays), ClassPass discounts and Private Medical insurance to name a few.

We believe the best work happens when we’re together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection. That is why we’ve adopted a hybrid approach, with teams in the office an average of four days a week. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process.
