Role: External Sales Manager

Location: Oxford

Pay rate/Salary: Base Salary £35k to £45k + Performance Related Bonus

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday

Type: Permanent – Office/Field based

Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

My client is a leading Electrical Wholesaler, one of the largest in the UK. They are recruiting for an External Sales Manager in their Oxford Branch.

The Role of Sales Manager:

  1. Growing and increasing sales in the branch’s geographical area.
  2. Continuously identifying and developing new and existing business accounts.
  3. Developing strong customer relationships to maximize the full potential of all accounts.
  4. Being resilient to rejection, whether on the phone or face-to-face.
  5. Working as part of a team to achieve high standards of business excellence.

Essential Sales Manager Skills:

  • Electrical Wholesale experience.
  • Cold calling and telecommunication skills.
  • Willingness and tenacity to approach companies directly and identify suitable targets.
  • Ability to confidently demonstrate sample products face-to-face to potential clients.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Independent planning, organization, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Smartly presented, portraying a professional company image.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Desirable Sales Manager Skills:

  • Punctual, reliable, and effective time management.
  • Career-focused, hardworking, and ambitious.
  • Strong telephone skills.
  • Positive, ambitious, and driven with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Experience in the wholesale industry is advantageous but not essential.
