Job description

We are looking for an Events Operations Manager to join our Catering and Retail Services Office at the House of Lords. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient planning, execution, and operational success of all events while overseeing the administrative team to deliver exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

As the Events Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating multiple teams, driving operational excellence, and implementing best practiSW1A 0PWces to ensure all catering and event operations run smoothly, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong willingness to be actively involved in the on-the-ground delivery of events, particularly during peak periods. You will play a vital role in maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers while building and leading a collaborative, high-performing team.

You’ll be accountable to:
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and improve event operations and administrative functions.
  • Implement technology or tools to optimise workflows and streamline communication between departments.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences to keep the business competitive.
  • Undertake other reasonable job-related assignments, this may include covering other posts both supervisory and operational when required.
  • Ensure that House policies and procedures in respect of fire, health and safety including manual handling, and food hygiene are complied with.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Attend weekly event team briefing for future week’s events.
  • Attend mandatory and other training as required.
  • Involvement in the recruitment process.
  • Arrange cover for staff absences, ensuring that any overtime work is evenly distributed, and sufficient weekend is provided when required.
