Job description
Events Coordinator

Softwerx is seeking an enthusiastic events coordinator who is eager to develop their career within event management. Spending most of their time within the events department working closely with the Events Lead, this entry-level role will also provide the successful candidate with the opportunity for some hands-on experience across multiple disciplines within the core marketing function, including brand awareness projects, website management, social media engagement, event execution, messaging and reporting.

Reporting to the marketing manager, the successful candidate will be a team player who is eager to learn, with excellent communication and organisational skills. They must have a can-do attitude with the ability to work well under pressure, and an interest in cybersecurity and AI.

Contract type: Permanent

Location: This is a remote hybrid role with occasional travel across the UK and weekly visits to the Cambridge Head Office at CB22 3GN (may change depending on business requirements).

Hours of work: Full time 37.5 hours per week 9am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday.

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 pa, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities
Events Support
  • Assist in research, planning, execution and reporting of online webinars (hosted on Microsoft Teams), in-person events and 3rd party tradeshows.
  • Act as a marketing POC (point of contact) with event venues to confirm event logistics, including venue booking, catering and dietary requirements, and AV setup.
  • Coordinate email communications (including invitations, reminders and general comms) with reporting of open rates, registrations and attendee communications.
  • Support and monitor event promotion and performance of each event (both online and in-person).
  • Compile post-event reports for each event.
Website Management
  • Create and manage website pages (via WordPress) with upcoming events, blog posts and other customer-facing content.
Social Media
  • Schedule and post social media updates where required for increased visibility.
Marketing Support
  • Assist with Microsoft Dynamics CRM data management in line with GDPR compliance.
  • Assist with additional marketing projects and campaign tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams - including marketing, business support, and commercial - to ensure smooth execution of channel initiatives.
Essential Experience
  • Studied or completed courses/modules in Marketing or Events Management.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles with an enthusiasm to learn and develop across marketing disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and posting on social media platforms (such as YouTube and LinkedIn).
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with change, and a strong bias for action and attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn and share ideas with the broader marketing team to help drive results for the business.
Preferred Experience
  • Some internship or work experience in marketing is desirable but not essential
Package
  • Competitive base salary £26,000 - £28,000 (experience dependent).
