A national health service is seeking a customer-focused individual to join their Events Team in Birmingham. The role involves running blood typing events and engaging with the public about donation. Applicants should have experience in customer service and will receive training for blood sampling. Additional pay is available for weekend shifts, and flexible working options are promoted.

Come and join our Events Team, who are involved in multi-product donor awareness and engagement: promoting blood, plasma, platelets, stem cells & organ donation at a wide variety of events, including businesses, universities, and public spaces.
You don't need a medical background; we just need you to have experience in a customer-facing environment (including voluntary roles). You will set up and run What's Your Blood Type? events - previously known as Know Your Type - where you will perform blood-typing tests (full training provided). You'll also be expected to keep up to date with the latest criteria and processes for different donation types and be able to explain these clearly to members of the public.
Its best if you live within about 15 miles of where the events happen, since things can move quickly and you might need to travel at short notice (well always give you a heads-up though). Some events happen on weekends, so youll need to be available occasionally but dont worry, its not every weekend. We do offer extra pay for weekend shifts, and certain travel costs can be reimbursed based on our policy.
Main duties of the jobIn this role you will work with the marketing team to register and book appointments for new blood donors at a variety of events, including shopping centres and workplaces. You will set up and run Know Your Type (KYT) events where you will perform blood type testing. Your duties at the events will include:
